Two divisions
Primary serves Toddler through Pre‑K 5. Elementary serves Kindergarten through 5th grade.
In summer, our own teachers lead BPS Summer, for children 18 months through 5th grade.

Primary
Sounds, then words.
We believe early literacy is the foundation for everything else. Lessons are highly structured and taught by teachers who know each child, so children feel safe enough to try.
- Letter sounds are introduced in brisk, high-energy groups.
- Skills follow a deliberate order: hearing sounds, decoding words, then writing them.
- Lessons are short and daily, so children stay focused.
- Writing starts early, because spelling a word helps a child read it.
Elementary
Skills, then projects.
Elementary students build on that foundation with core instruction during peak morning hours and projects that ask them to think, build, and present.
- UFLI Foundations in K–2, so every child masters phonics and decoding.
- Literature and writing across genres in K–5, connected to science and history.
- Singapore Math, built on understanding numbers rather than memorizing formulas.
- Each child’s growth measured three times a year with NWEA MAP.
Signature projects
Made for an audience.
Science, social studies, and writing come together around one big theme. Every unit ends with a project students present to families.
Special areas
Music, art, PE, and Spanish.
Music
Dedicated instruction, reinforced through our unit themes.
Physical education
Movement, skills, and teamwork, plus 45 minutes of recess every day.
